1500    Heads of Delegation are invited by the Rear Admiral of the Danish Fleet to join him on one of his ships 
             to tour Copenhagen harbour to view the newly fitted emissions reduction technology,

1900   Welcoming Drinks Reception at Forum Hotel

Saturday 24th October

0810     Participants meet in Hotel Kong Arthur/Ibsen�s Hotel Foyer

0815     Participants leave Hotelfor the Danish Parliament, the Folketing

0900     High level opening session begins

1830     First day of the Forum concludes

1830     Private Drinks & Dinner hosted by the Danish Parliament


Sunday 25th October

0820     Participants meet in Hotel Kong Arthur/Ibsen�s Hotel Foyer

0830     Participants leave Hotel for the Danish Parliament, the Folketing

0900     Forum Begins

1800     Final day of the Forum concludes

1930     Dinner in honour of the 20th Anniversary of GLOBE in the Restaurant S�ller�d Kro

Forum Agenda

The Forum Agenda is available here .  Please note that there will be considerable time for facilitated discussion during the two day Forum.  The output of the Forum will be the Report of the GLOBE International Commission on Climate and Energy Security to be submitted to the Prime Minister of Denmark, Lars L�kke Rasmussen, as host of the UNFCCC COP.  A formal process will be undertaken to arrive at consensus and a final draft of the report will be circulated to participants one week in advance of the Forum.  If you have any queries regarding the report please contact GLOBE�s Director of Policy, Mr Terry Townshend, on terry.townshend@googlemail.com

Hotel:

All hotel bookings will be made centrally by the GLOBE International Secretariat.  Once you have registered online, you will be guaranteed a room in the Forum Hotels, the Kong Arthur and Ibsen�s Hotel.  The two hotels are located in the same block of buildings and share some of the amenities.

Airport Transfers:

Delegates are kindly asked to contact their respective embassy to assist with their transfer from airports / train stations to the Forum Hotels.  If you are having particular difficulties please contact the GLOBE Secretariat and we will be able to assist you with these arrangements.

Visa Requirements:

It is recommended that everyone attending the GLOBE Copenhagen Forum contacts the Embassy/Consulate of Denmark in their respective country in order to check their individual visa requirements.  Alternatively you can visit the Danish Governments official portal for foreigners, here.

Temperature:

Weather in Copenhagen in October can be rainy with an average high dropping to 10 C/50 F at day time.  It will be cold at night.

Security:

To enter the Folketing you will be required to go through a security check.  There will be a high level of security at the Forum and you will be required to wear identification throughout.  If you have any particular security requirements please inform the Secretariat as soon as possible.

Interpreters /Presentations:

The main Forum languages will be English and Danish.  Please note that there will be a number of interpreters operating during the Copenhagen Forum.  Whilst we are able to provide interpretation in all participating national languages we are keen to minimise the complexity of the number of interpreters.  If you require interpretation please inform the Secretariat.

Dress code:

The dress code will be business suits throughout the proceedings.
